A Winter Wonderland
So you like snow. We'll we know how you feel - so do we. And its a good thing because we get plenty of it. San-Suz-Ed is open year 'round so you can enjoy it right along with us.
You'll have a lot of options to choose from at San-Suz-Ed's. If you'd like to try out that winter gear you purchased, bring it along. You can rough it out in the cold but have a nice warm and dry place close by just in case. How many of you would like to try winter camping? Give us some feed back and we will help you organize a fun-filled weekend or week. You may pick a warm winter day or you may pick a blizzard. What a rewarding experience this could be.
There are tons of winter activities in the park and surrounding area. There are Cross-country skiing trails, snowmobile trails, and very scenic hiking trails. There are trails suitable for the weekend hiker or the serious back country adventurer. We can send you maps of where the trails are from here. You can ski Big Mountain and Black Tail, our two local ski resorts. Many of our guests like to take the train to Essex. Be sure to bring your camera because this is one of the most scenic train routes in the country. Once you're in Essex (an historic and picturesque site) you can avail yourself of many very nice cross country trails or just sit on the front porch of the old Essex train depot and have a toddy.. Be sure to leave a little time to visit the Essex train museum.
